No one can track you online anymore. This is the new security feature of Android.

Android

Earlier this year Apple brought a much-loved feature for iPhone users called Transparency, which allows users to block online monitoring of apps they use. Now, Google is bringing a similar feature to Android users, with Android 12 later this year.

Android users no longer have this hassle

According to the recently released Google support page, users will no longer be able to opt-out of targeted or personalized ads by deleting an ad ID. It also acts as an identifier that identifies advertisers, rather than allowing them to monitor online. This comes after apple's app tracking transparency feature was introduced with IOS 14.5.

It is a key feature that is well appreciated by all kinds of users. This is because it gives iPhone and iPad users the option not to allow third-party apps and websites to be monitored for advertising purposes. Now, it's heartening news that Android users are also going to get a similar security feature with the upcoming Android 12.

You can no longer opt-out of customized ads

Ad ID is a unique, user-reset ID for advertising provided by Google Play services. It gives users better controls and provides developers with a simple, stable system to continue monetizing their apps. It enables users to reset their identifier or opt-out of personalized ads within Google Play apps.

Google's anti-surveillance feature

Google said on its support page, ''Google's anti-surveillance feature is a transparency feature that works in a similar way to Apple's app tracking. It gives users the option to delete the ad identifier on their Android phones. Advertising ID is a unique tracking number that acts as an identifier for advertisers.

Can advertisers no longer monitor the user's activity?

With the new Android 12, it should be noted that if users delete their ad ID, advertisers will not be able to get any information from the user. Apple's App Tracking Transparency feature works in the same view. Apple's identifier for advertisers is called an IDFA code. It is also used to monitor the user's activity between apps.

Developers refuse on the other hand

This is why you are looking for a product on Amazon or Flipkart, and then seeing the same or similar products in ads on other apps like Instagram or Facebook. This feature for Apple and Android users is a new concern for security and privacy, making users' support better. Developers on the other hand may express great disapproval of this.
