Apple's first computer came up for auction - Sold for $500,000

Apple-1 computer

Apple's product around the world means a special response from the people. Apple's products such as computer, smartphone, watch are going on and on. The company was formed about 45 years ago.

In 1976, Apple founders Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak designed their handbook and their company's first product, the Apple-1 computer, is currently up for auction. They had built and sold about 200 computers at that time. Only one of them is currently up for auction.

Apple was then selling only motherboard, CPU, RAM and Tec shoe video chip, rather than a fully fledged computer. All the keyboard and monitor types have been assembled by the buyers.

In 1977, a student bought an assembled Apple-1 computer from a Professor of Chaffey College in California, USA. He bought it for USD 650.

Now, which resulted in the winning bidder reportedly paying $400,000 to own the machine, and another $100,000 in fees to the auction house, John Moran Auctioneers.

The $500,000 amount is certainly a lot to pay for a vintage computer, but it’s not the highest. In 2014, a separate Apple-1 computer sold for a record $905,000 at an auction in New York.
